Another week, another Atlanta Falcons player under arrest.
Per a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, defensive end John Abraham was booked into Fulton County Jail after being charged with obstruction of police and obstruction of firefighters.
John Chafee of the Atlanta Police Department’s Public Affairs Unit told the Journal-Constitution that police responded to a call about a woman threatening to jump from a building in Midtown when Abraham refused to exit the scene.
According to the police report, Abraham entered a section that was blocked off by crime-scene tape. A firefighter “repeatedly ordered him to leave the scene” and when Abraham didn’t officers stepped in to order he leave. Again Abraham “refused and insisted on continuing [farther] into the scene.” At this point, Abraham was arrested and slapped with the misdemeanor charges.
Abraham is the second Falcons player in as many weeks to get in trouble with the law, following Michael Turner’s DUI arrest after last Monday night’s win over the Broncos.
The woman, who threatened to jump but didn’t, was uninjured and taken to a local hospital, according to police.
